4 Key Limitations of ChatGPT
ChatGPT has already taken an irreversible place in our lives. Yet, it is as misleading as it is helpful.
It is a helpful tool only for those who know how to use it wisely. However, if you simply command ChatGPT to do all of your work, you will lower the quality and credibility of your work without realizing it.
Considering digital platforms are so open to spreading misleading words, ChatGPT could easily become a new and the most powerful source of disinformation.
So, let’s have a look at the main limitations of ChatGPT when you are simply writing or trying to do your homework.
1. Last knowledge update
Last knowledge update of ChatGPT is January 2022 for version 3.5, and April 2023 for version 4.0. So, if you want to use ChatGPT for the trending topics, you won’t get the up-to-date information.
2. Reliability
ChatGPT doesn’t guarantee 100% truth. So, it is definitely misleading, especially when you are writing something technical or scientific.
3. Lack of source of information
It doesn’t always give you the reference of the information, or sometimes it gives you wrong references with link which doesn’t lead anywhere.
Here in the second command, the link provided is not opening any website, and when you google the reference you will see there is no page as “Herbal Supplements” in National Eating Disorders Association website.
4. The choice of words
Its language is so repetitive that you can easily detect a content written by ChatGPT. You see this pattern especially when you’re taking suggestions for headlines. ChatGPT tends to repeat the words “Unveil, unleash, unlock, embrace, navigate, intricacies, realm” so often.
There are additional limitations you can discover online. Here, I aimed to discuss the common challenges I faced as a content writer trying to utilize ChatGPT most efficiently.
Without a human touch and a comprehensive understanding of how to employ an AI tool for your task, whether it’s a homework or an article, the resulting work may not meet the standards required to offer meaningful assistance or insights to your audience.
